The Mountshannon Hotel is located in the center of the village of Mountshannon; the most picturesque and historic village on Lough Derg which is the largest lake on the River Shannon and is renowned for lake fishing and lately, watersports. The village is very close to top class Golf Courses, Mountain Walks, Equestrian Trails and many more local attractions.
The Hotel is a 3 minute walk from the village harbour which caters for many cruisers and sailboats to moor up and take in what the village has to offer, the harbour also has a ‘blueflag’ swimming quarter and beautiful picnic areas. Holy Island is a significant part of the village history and trips are available on request at the harbour.
‘The Village Inn’ bar of the Mountshannon Hotel is a lively yet child friendly bar which keeps an old style pub theme with cleanliness is of utmost importance. Traditional Music is a permanent fixture every Friday Night with many unplanned sessions on occasion. There is an outdoor decking area which is south facing and captures all the sun on glorious summer days in Mountshannon.
Bar Food is available until 9:00pm everyday and it is our aim to keep the hotel one of the best places for bar food on the Shannon. All our food is freshly prepared from local produce and can be easily traced to Irish farms.
